Johnny the Baptist

JOHNNY THE BAPTIST and his followers…

boy-and-cat

Matt. 18:4-5
 ‘Therefore,
whoever humbles himself
like this child is the greatest
in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoever welcomes
a little child like this
in my name welcomes me.’

Johnny’s Mother
looked out
the window
and noticed him
‘playing church’
with their cat.

He had the cat
sitting quietly
and he was
preaching to it.
She smiled
and went
about her work.

A while later
she heard loud
meowing & hissing
and ran back
to the open window
to see Johnny
baptizing the cat
in a tub of water.
She called out,

‘Johnny, stop that!

The cat is afraid of water!’

Johnny looked up
at her and said,
‘He should have thought
 about that
before he joined
my church.’

  1. Seeing this picture I am reminded of my kids ,when they were 10 and 7 years old .They wanted to have a puppy as a pet.Personally I have nothing against pets, and they are quite affectionate than people.Since I too am working I did not agree to the propasal of having a pet at home.MY kids were pestering me everyday that we need a pet….this went on for few days, one day exasperated I told them that they can have a pet but then I will leave the house and go away. They were nonplussed and their jaws dropped on hearing this.A quick consultaton between them took place and the younger one quite confidentluy came uo to me and said…you know mom we have decided to have you with us ….we dont want a puppy.WE want you. There was a lump in my throat on hearing the little bundle of joys telling me that.I was happy that they were capable of letting go things beyond their reach and be content with what they have.I was smiling through my tears that they have they have foregone sumthing which they wanted simply because they loved their mother
